Journeyman to Senior DBA

Location: Adelphi, MD

Must have: SECRET security clearance with the ability to be cleared to TS/SCI. DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) to start. CSSP certification is required within 90 days of start.

SNVC is currently seeking a Database Administrator to provide mission-critical system support to our Army C5ISR Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) customer in Adelphi, MD. May be partially remote, must be in vicinity of DC-MD-VA as some in person hours are required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to create Linux scripts for the completion, automation of task level requirements and ability to create and manage cron jobs in Linux.

  • Knowledge of a software development lifecycle that includes development, validation, integration, training and production.

  • Ability to develop a detailed project plan that includes schedule, scope, communication plan, risk analysis, resource estimates, milestones and back-out procedures.

  • Ability to produce operational documentation using industry best practices in technical writing.

  • Ability to gather process requirements to automate.

  • Ability to develop and implement service request workflows for automating system operation and maintenance processes.

  • Ability to perform written and oral communications, and oral presentations, to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, and to interface with the internal customers on a daily basis.

  • Adept at working independently, but also in a team environment.

  • All other duties as assigned or directed.

Basic Qualifications

  • SECRET security clearance with the ability to be cleared to TS/SCI.

  • Deliver advanced technical infrastructure capabilities aligned with defined requirements for large-scale data storage, processing, and automation.

  • Work on complex technical problems and provide effective solutions.

  • Work with highly experienced and technical resources.

  • Plan, create and maintain new and existing Postgres SQL databases Linux administration and automation, and other third-party software.

  • Update existing automation capabilities for new versions of software and patches.

  • Install, develop, and maintain existing scripts and code to support various new system functions.

  • Maintain source code using git and source management capabilities.

  • Create and modify automation capabilities for lifecycle deployment.

  • Maintain and support virtualization technologies.

  • Maintaining and developing Python JSON database to supplement inventory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Postgres SQL database creation, maintenance, and management, VMware virtualization technology, Github, GitLab and BitBucket.
