Senior data scientist
Location: Adelphi, MD (can be remote for right candidate)
Must have: Secret Clearance w/eligibility for TS/SCI, Sec+ and one other CSSP qualification (CEH, CySA+, CCNA, GCIA, GCIH, Cloud+, SCYBER, PenTest+)
SNVC is seeking a Sr Data Scientist to support the DCSB contract. This position provides technical expertise to the Army Research Lab, C5ISR Center Defensive Cyber Solutions Branch (DCSB) Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) Security Operations Center (SOC) as a Senior Data Scientist.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the DCSB DCO Senior Data Scientist.
Mine and analyze data from various sources to drive decision support and improvement of organization strategies.
Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources/attributes and data collection techniques.
Work with structured and unstructured data to prepare in-depth analysis, including the normalization and canonicalization of data to ensure consistent inputs.
Introduce validation and reporting techniques to ensure the veracity of data.
Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets and extract additional insights.
Provide expertise in exploratory data analysis, pattern discovery and advanced analytical techniques.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of prior IT experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience. Additional certifications and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Must have a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) to start, and CSSP certification within 90 days
Must have an active Secret with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years hands-on experience deploying production quality code
Professional experience using Python for data processing
Knowledge of and experience with data-related Python packages
Deep understanding of SQL and analytical data warehouses
Hands-on experience implementing data pipeline tools and ETL (or ELT) at scale.
Strong data modeling skills
Continuous advancements in data engineering practices
Ship medium features independently
Maintain data platform with timely and quality data
Build and maintain data pipelines from internal databases and cloud-based applications
Create and maintain architecture and systems documentation
Write maintainable, performant code
Collaborate with Data Analysts and other functions to ensure data needs are addressed
Experience in heterogeneous computer networking technology and work in protocol and/or interface standards specification.
Deep technical understanding of core current cybersecurity technologies as well as emerging capabilities.
Hands-on cybersecurity experience (Protect, Detect, Respond and Sustain) within a
Computer Incident Response organization.
Demonstrated understanding of the life cycle of cybersecurity threats, attacks, attack vectors and methods of exploitation with an understanding of intrusion set tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs).
CND experience (Protect, Detect, Respond and Sustain) within a Computer Incident
Response organization.
Experience in a 24x7 environment.

Journeyman to Senior DBA
Location: Adelphi, MD

SNVC is currently seeking a Database Administrator to provide mission-critical system support to our Army C5ISR Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) customer in Adelphi, MD. May be partially remote, must be in vicinity of DC-MD-VA as some in person hours are required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to create Linux scripts for the completion, automation of task level requirements and ability to create and manage cron jobs in Linux.
Knowledge of a software development lifecycle that includes development, validation, integration, training and production.
Ability to develop a detailed project plan that includes schedule, scope, communication plan, risk analysis, resource estimates, milestones and back-out procedures.
Ability to produce operational documentation using industry best practices in technical writing.
Ability to gather process requirements to automate.
Ability to develop and implement service request workflows for automating system operation and maintenance processes.
Ability to perform written and oral communications, and oral presentations, to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, and to interface with the internal customers on a daily basis.
Adept at working independently, but also in a team environment.

Maintain source code using git and source management capabilities.
Create and modify automation capabilities for lifecycle deployment.
Maintain and support virtualization technologies.
Maintaining and developing Python JSON database to supplement inventory.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Postgres SQL database creation, maintenance, and management, VMware virtualization technology, Github, GitLab and BitBucket.
